No trading today for me on Christmas Eve. And in fact I'm finished now for 2009. This year has been tougher to daytrade than 2008. Some months were just scrambling around breaking even. Whether things will improve in 2010, who knows, but I'm sure it will be interesting.
Not sure how many people are still around reading this blog as it seems the popularity of daytrading stocks is waning a bit. Maybe the attraction of Forex is more enticing. But to those few still around, have a great Christmas holiday and all the best for the new year.

Trend down then 4th is pullback NR3 IB and is our short trigger. Looked good intially but didn't quite have the legs to reach 1R. Stopped out for a loss later on.

Trend up past OR then retrace back to OR and ema. The 7th is green NR3 off ema and closing strong. This is our long trigger. After entry it just went sideways for rest of day. Closed in last session for around breakeven.

ADM (gap up)
Bullish first after gap up then trend up past OR. The retrace on 4th and 5th to ema is completed by the bullish 5th which confirms the OR breakout and is our long trigger. Closed partial at just past 1R near Fib Ext then rest came back to breakeven.
No other trades for me today. Did have an order in for HUM but wasn't triggered. Did think about ANR long, but dithered a bit on the OR breakout beacause the candle was wider range than I like, so I left it. Hope you had a good day.

Gap down is followed by fall thru OR low then retrace to test the OR as resistance. The 6th candle is NR3 off OR low and closing weak. This is our short trigger. Turned out to be a slow grind as it went sideways for most of the day. Eventually got to 1R then closed rest at end of day near whole number.

Bullish advance which was (imo) petering out. The 6th was doji potential reversal and 7th NR7 lower high and our short trigger. Looking at the chart now it seems a crazy short trade, but at the time I thought it was worth a shot :-). Stopped out for a loss.

Bearish first then shallow retrace up to OR low and ema resistance. The 5th is NR7 off OR low and is our short trigger. Worked nicely after entry as market sold off. Closed partial at 1R since whole number and Fib Ext was approaching. then left rest to run. This was closed towards end of day at around 3R.
