Trades 02/July/2008

Watchlist:
AGO,AVCT,AYI,BTU,CHK,CNX,DB,DISH,DLTR,ESI,FDO,FISV,FST,
GSK,HK,INFY,RJF,RRC,SAY,SLT,SNDK,SNY,SQNM,WLP,XCO,YHOO

Very choppy early on today. I couldn't find many entries. I did have orders for FISV and CNX but they never triggered. BTU and DISH looked promising, but I couldn't get an entry I was happy with. So no trades at all today.

Traders who trade the last session would have had some good options today considering how much the market moved in the final session.

Trader AM, you mentioned in your post that you had orders in today, but they did not trigger. How do you place your entry orders? Do you place limit orders based on your desired entry points. I would assume you use market orders and rty to buy and sell mannually, but I must be wrong. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

CNX and BTU opened well within yesterday's range which should have kept them from making your watch list today ?

My entry is usually a STP LMT order.

They may have opened within yesterday's range, but after the first candle they were trading below yesterday's range. Hence they remain on my watchlist.

would you consider SNDK's 17th candle a trigger? it followed through a bit after but then reversed and I closed it at b/e

Regarding FISV - what was you trigger candle? I was also watching it, but couldnt find any entry candle, except maybe for the 15th or 17th candles.

Have a nice long weekend!

Yes in it's own right it's a candle worth entering off. from my perspective, I wouldn't normally be watching the market at that time so couldn't have caught it. The main red flag is the whole number at $19.00 which it had failed to hold with any conviction so far.

FISV > I was thinking of the 8th candle. It is red but had a bullish tail. Off the ema and also above whole number and previous price action was nicely bullish. The next candle though was bearish and closed lower. So I pulled my order.

Trader AM, do you find that many trades get away from you because of stp lmt orders? How often do they blow past your initial entry price and come back to that trigger price?

Thanks,

I have the occasional order which gets away and I don't get filled. But it's not a regular occurrence, so I don't worry about it.
