AMX (gap down)

Gap down and rejection of previous day's low. Fall thru OR on 2nd then retest with two successive NR3, NR7 and IB candles. The latter of these (the 4th) is our short trigger. The perfect candle after the trigger bar allowed us to take partial at 2R which was also near the Fib Ext. The rest was left to run. Had high hopes that it would trend for rest of the day, but it just drifted sideways. Closed remainder at end of day also for 2R. So overall a decent profit.

I wish AMX was in my scan list... I think I would've shared in your success. Nice trade!

Thx 00nr7.
Yes it was a nice setup.

I noticed you have dots above and below certain candles. Do they have a special meaning?

anon.
They are QT paintbar indicators. Signifying NR3, NR7 etc. Makes it a bit easier to spot visually.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Your blog is great!

GEF was a no brainer

GEF:
Vol was 11k on first candle, so I wouldn't have traded that at all. Aside from that no setup on the 15min chart that I can see.

Am,

Are you able to provide some info on how you are trading off your spreadsheet in terms of mechanics and efficiency for orders? that's a very interesting subject I think. I just type orders directly into IB which takes some time.

Excellent trading and results, well done!

Cheers,
Andrew

Andrew.

Glad you like the blog.

I'm not really doing anything too clever with regards to trading spreadsheet. I have just used the one that IB provide on their website and slightly modified it. I can work out position sizes and Fib Ext values using the data from the chart. Then I use the standard excel buttons supplied to make the trade and set stop and limit orders etc.
Does that cover your question ?

Thanks.

Am,

Thanks. Will have another look at the IB spreadsheet and see what I come up with.

Cheers,
Andrew.
