Trades 24/April/2008

Watchlist:
ABB,AGP,AMZN,AZN,BEN,BHP,CMG,CNX,CVA,DO,EPIQ,FNF,FSTR,HRH,
NTRI,NWL,PLXS,PTV,RCL,SBUX,TSCO,VRTX,WHR,XLNX,ZMH

A bit of a waste of time today. Typically I had the day off from work and so had more time to watch the market...but guess what? I just couldn't find any entry which I liked out of the above watchlist.

TR: today seem to be no different from yesterday. As of 11:14 am USA time, can't find a single set-up.

Ques:
(a) in your past trading experience how many days have you had like yest?

(b) with the summer fast approaching, do you think there will be many days like yest?

(c) HOT I was stalking but did not like the 9th bar pullback after b/o , esp since it b/d the prior bar's low. The re-bounce was solid and strong, but a wide range bar = not a low risk entry. Was watching for an NRB, which never came. Would you have traded anyway?

Thanks for all your input. U R Da Man! Ralph

TR: Here is an interesting article on risk & money management. It is a small token of appreciation for your unselfish contribution to my trading knowledge.

I hope you find it a good read. Ralph

a) quite a few days like this. Maybe on average one a week.

b) Who knows. Last summer was unusual in that there were numerous good trading days. Maybe we will have the same this year.

c) Yes the 9th bar pulled back. But I would have regarded that as an opportunity. See how it bounced off the ema and also still closed above OR. The 10th then confirmed OR as support and it finished strong. Yes I agree that ideally a NR would have been better, but I would still have traded it as it fits my pattern.
