Expecting your ideas in the emini futures. Trying to move too to emini, and glad to learn that you already started doing it. I know you will succeed considering your experiences in the stock trading. Good luck! Can't wait any longer sample or kind of execution/system you're going to implement.
I've found the transition to emini's extremely difficult. It's a whole lot easier to get your emotions involved with the fast pace of futures trading. I really enjoyed the slower pace of trading the way you do, searching for the right stocks, pouncing on opportunities, managing the trade with "R" values, ect. The indexes have a much higher learning curve, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of things (after a year and a half). The Afraid to Trade website has been extremely helpful for me in the transition.
Yes, agree with what you say. I would have stayed with stocks. But have hit problems with achieving decent gains this year as well as fill issues with using larger sizes.
Trader Mark at Seeking Alpha has some interesting observations: 80% of stocks move with direction of market involving the concept of "risk on/risk off" and news driven w/o regard to fundamentals. The only unknown is how much(%) will it move. It would seem having a beta WL of stocks , or news WL could be advantageous. GS AAPL rallied, WLT(neg news) sold off, Fri. Good luck.
PCG(Friday)-I put an order for Dec45Calls tried to change price($1.7) but delayed confirmation of buy($2). LESSON: 1)don't catch a dagger until it hits the ground, rolls over a few times, and shakes the dust off. Then look at it. 2)I should have shorted it as was just plain nasty bad news like BP MEE GS, recently. 3) Go with the trend: the chart was a perfect set up on 10/15/30 min periods...one of the best I've seen . Trader X would have made a bundle on this!

Will see how it goes.

emini does look promising, doesn't it?
